In this article I would like to provide alternative solutions and if this may be a need for your Raspberry setup to make your Phone or tablet a display for your Raspberry PI OS.

I provided an AOSP Android-15 Flashing and also Prepared an SD card for Raspberry here are those articles.

I tried capturing all the images to visualize the hardware steups, Let's see how we can use our Phone or tablet devices as display units!!!

Hardware Required

Android Phone or Tablet

Video Capture Card

USB Type-C to USB Adapter

Micro HDMI to HDMI

Application Android

Connections Steps

  1. Install the USB Camera App on your Phone or Tablet.
  2. Connect the “Micro HDMI to HDMI” cable to the Raspberry Pi board.
  3. Connect “Micro HDMI to HDMI” to the “Video Capture Adapter”.
  4. Connect the “Video Capture Adapter” to “USB Type-C to USB Adapter”.
  5. Connect the “USB Type-C to USB Adapter” to the Phone Type C Port.
  6. Give Power to Raspberry Pi Board.
  7. Open the USB camera Application Phone to Tablet.

You will see the Projections of Raspberry PI OS to Device.

Key Points:

USB Camera did not support touch for Raspberry PI Android OS but supports the mouse so you can access the Android Over Raspberry PI via mouse.

USB Camera Application shows an annoying ad on top of the Display.
